En somme, l'analyse des pratiques de mobilité permet la compréhension de l’utilisation de l’espace et du rapport à celui-ci. Cette étude démontre d’ailleurs l’importance de l’aspect social lors du choix des stratégies d’aménagement et de déplacements. Enfin, la réunion des différents cadres et critères d’évaluation d’un TOD, incluant ces considérations sociales, constitue une base pour l’étude de l'influence de ce modèle d'aménagement sur les parts modales des transports collectifs et actifs dans une ville comme il l'a été démontré pour celle de San Francisco.
